英国伦敦大学学院医学分子病毒学研究助理职位

　　A position for Research Associate is available to work in the MRC Centre for Medical Molecular Virology, the Wohl Virion Centre, UCL Bloomsbury campus, Windeyer Building. The MRC Centre includes several internationally competitive research groups in Virology and provides excellent infrastructure. UCL has been graded one of the top five universities worldwide by the Times Higher education supplement (world university rankings 2009) and together with Oxford University, has the highest number of highly cited papers in Virology.

　　The position is offered initially for 2 years. Through the Centre for Medical and Molecular Virology, the MRC has funded a post and consumables to run a high throughput screening platform located in the safety level 3 (Cat 3) laboratories in the Wohl Virion Centre. This is the only facility of this kind in academia in the UK and will underpin several projects aimed at investigating fundamental biology of virus replication and translate discoveries into the development of new antivirals, new diagnostic tools and vaccination strategies. The screening platform in the Wohl Virion Centre is also part of the MRC Translational Research Centre awarded to the Laboratory for Molecular & Cell Biology (LMCB) and the Wohl, which includes high throughput imaging facilities and bioinformatics.

　　The Research Associate, who will be based in the Wohl Virion Centre, will be in charge of running the robotic equipment and performing high throughput screenings with siRNAs and small chemical molecules. The Research Associate will also help during the assay development stage and liaise with personnel in the LMCB and the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. 　　Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject, experience of high throughput screening, running robotic equipment and experience with handling chemical and/or siRNA libraries. Appointment will be on the Grade 7 scale
